Goodbye, Emacs
I was once loyal to Emacs - full config, custom keybindings, the whole mental model.
Eventually, I tried JetBrains IDEs… and everything just worked.
Years later, I revisited Emacs out of nostalgia. It was rough. Strange key combos, confusing windows, and constant friction. I couldn’t tell if I was editing a file or solving a logic puzzle.
These days, I use whatever’s fastest: Vi(m), VS Code, JetBrains. I still admire what Emacs stands for - total control, infinite customization - but I just want to code, not configure.
RIP Emacs Phase. I’ll always remember the thrill of mastering it, but now I value simplicity and speed over complexity.
